Last year I wrote about the iPhone app called Strobox, that allows you create lighting diagrams in your iPhone. So they didn’t stop creating and launched the community for photographers Strobox.com.

The second light festival Staro Rīga will took place from November 14 to 18, 2009. All around the city people could see unique objects of the art of light created with the help of the Rīga City Council, business people and the private initiative.
Today I want to share thees portrait lighting diagrams with you folks ! I think they will come in handy for someone. I made those from a book that is called “The book of light”, I didn’t found any diagrams in this book that’s why I made them from the description under every photo. Have fun !
Another strobist practice with my cat Chopstick. I had some difficulties shooting him cause he always moving and doing some ridiculous things

I decided to share another set of photos, my “Playing with light” small strobes lighting practice.
This is “The Ultimate Bounce Card” by Peter Gregg. This guy sells hand made bounce cards and shows how to make and use them. I found it pretty cool to share your techniques and hand made equipment that everyone can make at home with a piece of white and black paper and a rubber band. Watch the video and make one ! You need this stuff.

Today I want to share some basic portrait setups. These setups don’t require expensive equipment or fancy techniques. All you need is a softbox or umbrella, fill cards, and some strobes.
Not long ago I bought the SB-600. As a true strobist (inspired by David Hobby and Bert Stephani) I made some light modifiers and started to experiment with my shots. This one is the best I’ve got from the first session. I used SB-600 at 1/4 power and a grid spot.
