Today I found out that www.yousaytoo.com is performing a new contest, holiday dream gift, all you need to do is write what I want for Christmas is I had a $1000, and maybe if I’ll win yousaytoo will buy me this thing. So let’s begin !
The gift of me dreams is to have a new lens for my Nikon D80 DSLR. I want a Nikon AF 80-200 mm F/2.8 D ED, this is a great lens, but I can’t afford it. If I had this lens I’d have more opportunities to improve my photo skills, and a great inspiration to create new more interesting photos.
So I hope that I’ll win this contest, and will receive my dream gift.

I never thought about shooting a video, especially on a DSLR. But suddenly one day I had this strange idea to make a zombie movie on a DSLR, don’t know how it came to me but I liked it, so I told the idea to my friend and he didn’t think long and told me -”what the hell, lets do this !”. So we wrote the script, chose the actors and went shooting. It took us 3 hours of shooting, 1500 photos, 6-7 hours of montage and the film was created.
So behold !
Today I was shooting my friend and his girlfriend, he asked me for a shoot for a half a year maybe and now it happened. It was the first time I shot a couple, and I liked the results. We shot at 3 different locations for 2 or maybe 2,5 hours. I really had a good time and got some good pictures.
Last Saturday was a good sunny/cloudy weather and we decided to go shooting, while the trees still have their beautiful yellow and brown leaves.
Today I picked up the developed film from the lab and a preview of all photos.

This autumn I decided not to go shooting landscapes, but to make a portrait session with my wife and sister. So we went to Sigulda, it’s a beautiful place in Latvia, it was an overcast day so the shadows was soft and smooth. Had some good time shooting. I also shot film with my Lubitel 166, didn’t finish the film so I’ll share those photos later.

For some time I tried to think how can I combine a studio softbox and a small studio flash. Today I found a good tip how to use a studio softbox with a small camera flash Yanik’s Photo School demonstrates how you can make your own flash rig using standard studio equipment, it’s really easy. Only one more thing I want to figure out is how can I use my studio reflectors with my small flash. If you have any suggestions drop a comment.
