Friday, September 25th, 2009After my previous entries: “Portrait setup examples” and “Basic portrait lighting diagrams” I decided to continue and today I want to share some basic portrait lighting setups with you. I found them pretty useful and you won’t need a lot of studio equipment, just some basic strobist stuff.

Creating a Macworld magazine cover
Thursday, August 13th, 2009Take a look at this amazing video, all steps of creating a macworld magazine cover (except printing). First the photographers do their job by setting up light and using a full frame camera to capture 2 iPhones 3Gs. After that the image goes to retouching, where the retouching man adds the display images. Then the retouched image goes to the cover designer, who makes the finale magazine cover in Adobe InDesign. And after all that you can see the final printed magazine.

Lubitel my new medium format camera
Thursday, May 28th, 2009I bought this one on a flea market for a couple of bucks. The quality is almost perfect for the 60 years old camera. I’m a big fan of retro stuff. Now I’m looking forward to make some old school retro pin up photos.
My first One Light experience
Sunday, May 3rd, 2009Last week I attended a seminar about “One Light Photography”. It was a 6 hour long lecture and practice. The professional photographer showed us how to make cool high-class photos using only 1 light and the available lighting. It really inspired me and today I decided to try some techniques I learned on the seminar, so let’s see the results.
