Last week I finally bought a film scanner “Epson V500″ and I spent about 1 week scanning all my 120 and 135 negatives. So now I have more than 35 folders of scanned negatives and I decided to create a blog where I’ll post only photos I took with film cameras.
Episode 2 from the Hardcore Liva photo session is up.
This image was made for the “Elmakias 50mm Bracelet Contest Giveaway“.
Today I had a really interesting session with my good friends. I decided to make a retro style photos, something in retro train travelers style. So I searched my grandfathers country garret for props or stuff I can use for this session and found two vintage suitcases, just like in 50’s people used to travel with. We picked a nice location not far from my apartment, with railroad tracks and train hangars. As the weather was not so warm we were shooting for an hour or so, made some series of classic shots like “going away”, “catch that train” and other.
I never thought about shooting a video, especially on a DSLR. But suddenly one day I had this strange idea to make a zombie movie on a DSLR, don’t know how it came to me but I liked it, so I told the idea to my friend and he didn’t think long and told me -”what the hell, lets do this !”. So we wrote the script, chose the actors and went shooting. It took us 3 hours of shooting, 1500 photos, 6-7 hours of montage and the film was created.
So behold !
The second light festival Staro Rīga will took place from November 14 to 18, 2009. All around the city people could see unique objects of the art of light created with the help of the Rīga City Council, business people and the private initiative.
Last week we went to visit my wife’s relatives, they live in the country, so I decided to take some pictures of a rural view, nothing special I say, but in the other side you won’t see that kind of landscape every day living in the city.
I had 2 cameras with me, my Nikon D80 and a holga. I am not actually satisfied with the shots I got with my holga, don’t know what went wrong this time, I used ILFORD Delta 400, but photos came out blurry, light and some of them had light leeks (that pissed me of a lot), I hate light leeks especially on B&W film.
Last week I finally received my Holga 120N toy camera, loaded it with Ilford HP4 film ISO 400 film. Made 2 shots one day then it stood for about a week and then on weekends I went to Kemeri to visit the abandoned hotel, and I took the holga with me. Took some shots and after that I finished the film on the swamp road. Developed the film on the same day and scanned it. I really like the shots I made with Holga, they has there own look a little bit blurry on the edges, the strong vignette, classic. So let get the look on those pictures !
Last Saturday was a good sunny/cloudy weather and we decided to go shooting, while the trees still have their beautiful yellow and brown leaves.
